Skevva are aerial nectarivorous lithotrophs native to Charon.
They are hunted by Charonites for their sweet, tender meat.
Physiology[]
Skevva are two foot tall gliding creatures that feed on the mineral-rich sap found in Charon's flora. A rigid wing membrane encircles most of their bodies, allowing them to glide from tree to tree. They use their clawed feet to grip branches while feeding with their bony proboscis. This proboscis secretes an acidic digestive fluid that helps dissolve the outer layers of bark surrounding most trees. It can also be sprayed at potential threats to discourage predation.

Skevva are solitary creatures that typically dwell wherever abundant sources of flora and ammonia can be found. They are solitary creatures that sleep upside down, much like the bats of Earth. Normally they are quite docile, but during their mating season they become particularly aggressive due to the rise in hormone levels.
