Crabjaws are insectoid predators native to Zeiklos.

They are legendary in Yr'thali culture for their ferocity and relentlessness.

Physiology

Crabjaws are carnivorous bipeds that somewhat resemble the velociraptors of Dinoterra's past. Unlike velociraptors, however, they have four jagged, insectoid mandibles and are covered in a chitin-like substance. Crabjaws are completely blind. The protrusions on top of their skulls are actually electro-sensitive tendrils that allow them to detect the electromagnetic fields around other organisms. They also have sharp senses of smell and hearing. They do not sleep, suggesting that their ancestors originated on a world that lacked a diurnal cycle.

Behavior

Cranjaws typically hunt in groups of 3-5 individuals. They are awake constantly, and are always highly alert. They are relentless in their pursuit of prey, and never seem to tire, no matter how long the chase takes. When food is scarce, crabjaws will band together to attack Yr'thali Tent-towns or caravans. They use coordinated tactics to eliminate threats they can't handle on their own.
