Clubferns are a type ofExantid, the Cthonian equivalent of plants.

Physiology[]
Clubferns are between 40 and 80cm across, and when mature a scarlet-grey flower appears at the centre.
The leaves are black to maximise light absorbtion. However, certain green wavelengths are still unuseable.
Pollen travels up special tubes in the leaves, so that it dusts the faces of Kineks consuming the fern.
Lifecycle[]
Pollen produced in the plant is dusted on a herbivore's face.
When the herbivore next eats a clubfern, the pollen then fall into the ovaries of the second clubfern and fertilises the eggs. The tiny seeds are then emitted and drift far from their parent.
