Clubreeds are up to 15cm tall, with thin stalks. They bear a single leaf at the end of this stalk, and a layer of four below that.
Their roots are tough and deep, enabling them to stay stuck even against strong winds.
Clubreeds do not produce seeds, but extend their root systems into new soil. If conditions are right, a new stalk grows from these roots and develops. Eventually, the two plants are seperated.
