Aventors are the apex predators of Nevermore. They are quadrupedal avians.
Physiology[]
Appearance[]
Aventors are very large black quadrupeds. They have long, toothed beaks which they use to tear victims flesh. Their body is covered in thick black feathers. Males have a white headcrest on the crown of their head.
Natural Weapons[]
Aventors do not use their beaks for the dispatching of prey. Instead, they use their long, curved claws to slice through their preys flesh.
They catch their prey through speed. Once they are close, they will throw themselves at the animal, using their own immense weight to take it down.
Behaviour[]
Aventors are highly territorial, and they will attack any large animal that enters their turf. Their territories can cover a five-mile radius.
Status[]
Aventors are almost extinct, as they are hunted by the Tuoco. Around fifty years ago they launched a large-scale extermination effort against the species, and now the animal is considered criticly endangered.
Even more were killed during the recent Verplaatsen invasion of Nevermore. Since this event, Aventors have been officially considered as a species on the brink of extinction.
